Missed Appointment Policy

This policy is in place to ensure a consistent, fair and transparent process is undertaken when an appointment is not upheld.

We schedule individual time allocations for each patient to allow us to deliver the quality care that every patient deserves.

We do offer a text reminder service 48 hours prior to your appointment.  If you would like to receive this message, please ask our reception team and ensure we hold the correct mobile number for you.

If you are unable to attend, please give 24 hours’ notice, late cancellations may be classed as a missed appointment.

Failure to Attend

New patients that fail to attend will not be offered another appointment.

You are advised if you fail 2 appointments consecutively or more than 2 over all we will no longer be able to offer you treatment.

If you fail to visit the practice for over 2 years on the NHS your registration will lapse.

If you are being seen on an independent basis a fee will be charged for missed appointments at a rate of £1 per minute, if the appointment time is used by another patient the charge will be reduced accordingly.

Appeals

Appeals about missed appointments or charges should be directed to the practice manager E M Hemingway either in writing or email info@grassingtondentalcare.co.uk
